Marc Jacobs is an American fashion designer who was born on 9th April 1963. After graduating from the ‘Parsons the New School of Design’, New York, he met the Perry Ellis, who was a big name in the fashion industry by that time. However, in 1984, when Marc Jacobs was twenty-one years, he won the ‘Perry Ellis Gold Thimble’ Award.

Even when he was studying in Parsons, he used to design and sell cloths. The most successful among them were the knitted sweaters. The small success of Marc Jacobs gave him a professional designing agreement. The agreement was with Reuben Thomas, Inc. however, after graduating, Marc joined Perry Ellis International.
When Perry Ellis died, he launched a clothing line with the help of ‘Onward Kashiyama’ USA in the year 1986. The collection from Marc Jacobs was not appreciated when he was still working with Perry Ellis International. He then joined as the vice-president of Tristan Russo label in the year 1989. The clothing line launched by him afterwards was entirely for women and this fetched him the ‘Women’s Designer of the Year’ award. When he was becoming a great name in the world of women’s fashion, he launched his line of men’s clothing in the year 1994.
Marc Jacobs is renowned for the details used in his clothing line. His passion is mixing the clothing types and creating variety and clothes that have its own identity. Even the denim line from Marc Jacobs has its own identity and unique style. Apart from the clothing line, Marc Jacobs accessories are also a hit among the fashionable people. At present, Marc Jacobs is working with Louis Vuitton apart from launching another menswear line called Marc in the year 2001.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort 2011 Accessories collection includes handbags, a set of pendants, rings, bracelets, umbrellas and totes taking influence from the endangered birds. The less-expensive nature of the lines from Marc Jacobs has also played a great role in making them popular.
